Another discovery everybody else knew about already

At this time of year, when the garage is neither too hot nor too cold to work in, I have a burst of activity, clearing clutter, weeding out, assembling sets of books to sell.

But I thought I'd take time out to share yet another of my Amazing Discoveries Actually Discovered Long Ago By Others: if you've got a yen for curried chicken salad and you don't have raisins on hand, dried apricots in it are yummo! In fact, I like it better this way.

I hate raisins.

Thus, anything that can replace them is a Good Thing.

My mother didn't much like them, either. She used to tell this story about her first-year roommate at the Georgia State College for Women (now the Georgia College and State University) in rural Milledgeville: they were on a field trip to a farm, looking at a rabbit warren. Her roomie said, seriously and in wonder, "I didn't know they fed rabbits raisins!"

I hate raisins.

8~) Raisins have always been pretty near the bottom of my list as a sugar source, but as a kid i was such a budding sugar addict (i'd even gobble my beets) that i would eat them as a last resort!

*LOL* O my. Bunny raisins ....ew.
