Home. Eating. Grumpy.

That could describe me on any day of the year, but in this particular case, it refers to Scooter.

They couldn't find anything wrong with him.  Joyful joyful!!

He still wouldn't eat much when we got him back here, but he also was sneezing.  Cats insist on testing food aroma before they will eat it and whatever the systemic illness was, it put his smeller off.  He'd eat the smellier treats in our repertoire, but that was all, last night, apart from a syringe-feeding that did not go well.  It seems to be slowly improving, and he's now eating odoriferous wet food.

Still not allowed outdoors until we get him back to normal.  Not happy, but no lethargy. Grateful tonight.

And just WHEN are you going to open this &$^% door??!

Very happy news! The x-ray was clear, I take it?

SO HAPPY to hear that Scooter is home and things are slowly improving. It's so distressing when they're sick. I hope he's back to normal very quickly.

Your previous post is a wonderful tribute to two unique felines who have chosen you. Given the circumstances, I'd say you're doing right by both of them.

I am glad that Scooter is back where he belongs.

We are wary but happy! They did not do an x-ray. I asked why, and they said he was doing so well, alert, eliminating nicely, and that they'd been swamped with emergencies, so they did not give it high priority. He is on antibiotics, and we decided to bring him home rather than leave him another night. He's going to his regular vet this week for followup and 2nd opinions.

Then maybe we can let him out in the yard again, so he can rest up his vocal cords from the operatic composition, "Open the Pod Bay Door, Hal!" which he's practicing with real dedication.

The alert part is great for everyone and the eliminating part is great for him, anyway. Is he grooming as much as he did before?

Sounds like he is getting back to normal - I hope all goes well from here on out!

He is grooming like he wants to remove all traces of his vet ordeal. Can't say I blame him for that.

My bet is that he's out of the woods, then, Larry. Cessation of grooming was the first sign of The Black Freighter's precipitous decline.
