Link by link, and yard by yard

There are 9 ribbon-chains, so far. One is sort of displayed along the back of the couch, the others are in heaps. Each is about 12 feet long. That's a guess. I'm about 5 foot 2, so a doubled-over length my height would be around 10 feet. But I keep adding links until I hold it up with my arm extended ceiling-ward and the doubled-over chain touches the floor.

It's very pleasant work, in anticipation of a Christmas that I'm pretty sure will not go down as being the Best Ever.

Very, very cool!! Where do you hang these gorgeous chains? On the tree, or in other places around the house?

Below the place where I click the cursor to comment here, there's a place where I can "create a link."

I wish I could, but I know that's not what Blogger means.

These are wonder works, Ruth. Good on ya, as my Mom used to say.

Cath - ridiculous tho it is...i have no idea what we're going to do with these things! Probably festoon both the tree and the ceilings, doorways, etc.!

Sherwood - If i do say so myself, they really are pretty cool-looking, and since making them is also so easy and planning/measuring-free, it's just about the ideal Christmas decoration.

They're gorgeous!

Bite your tongue about "best Christmas ever". The year I wanted to cancel Christmas altogether turned out to be one of our best.

I heartily second ronnie's comment. Don't look for "best ever" - ever - you do know that. Just do the best you can, for yourself and for those you love.

Maybe wrap yourself in those beautiful chains ---

ronnie and Ronnie - I know you're right. Change has to happen, and good things can grow out of it. We're all going to just ... do it and have it be what it is. Cliched tho it is, we really have a lot to find joy in.
