Glad to retain the "real" Epiphany, no matter when it is officially celebrated. Thank you. They can't just go around changing some things for convenience sake.
But, to my everlasting shame, I have not completed my Christmas thank-you notes by this date. I will try, by midnight.
In Newfoundland, the tree traditionally stays up until today, a tradition I've imported. So ours comes down tomorrow (probably the weekend more realistically as I am in Moncton all day tomorrow and will be knackered when I get back...)
Epiphany is also known as "Old Christmas Day" or "Little Christmas" there. I have Orthodox friends who work on Christmas Day so that they can take "their" Christmas Day off today. One former co-worker from Bosnia cooks a feast and invited all her co-workers to inhale it (just when our tummies were finally empty from our Christmases). I miss working there today!

Tomorrow being Epiphany, the Christmas tree will come down and everything will be put away. Back to real life.
