Til the clouds roll by

LUNAR ECLIPSE
COASTAL SOUTH CAROLINA
FEBRUARY 20, 2008

They said that it would be so overcast that we probably wouldn't get to see it at all, so I was happy to get a few shots before the cloud cover obliterated it.

This was about 8:45 PM Eastern.

Our view was completely cloud-obscured here in the Silicon Valley area -- but we provided a great simulation with the new planetarium equipment!

Our weather forecast was for partly cloudy -- temperatures at zero. Now, someone will tell me this isn't a scientific fact, but this ol' boy doesn't recall seeing a lot of clouds when the temperature is zero, and, scientifically valid or not, we had a completely clear sky and the moon on the snow was like a street light. Until, of course, it wasn't.
