We lost my dad last night.
This poor shot is a year old, but it makes me smile because it's Dad using an iPhone. He wanted nothing to do with modern technology, but needed something with a camera function.
There aren't words for how I'm missing him.

Ruth, I read the obit that you posted on another venue and, as I said there, the world could use many, many more people like him.
There's no way I can possibly understand what this loss means to you, so I won't try to say that I do. All I can say is that I do understand empty chairs, and I'm sorry you have to deal with another one.
So sorry. I remember losing my dad and realizing that I had a lot of things I hadn't finished talking to him about.
Which is why he was so important to me. We really never would have run out of things.
But it hurts.
